Penguins fan calling into radio to blast Guentzel trade embarrasses himself with hilariously bad take
Yesterday, the Pittsburgh Penguins made the franchise altering decision to trade their homegrown superstar Jake Guentzel to the Carolina Hurricanes. The trade signifies the end of an era for the Penguins, enough to rile up their fans quite a bit. One Penguins fan even called into a radio station to talk about the trade, but he missed the plot entirely - saying he's never heard of any good Canadian or European players.
Wait till this guy gets a load of Sidney Crosby! It's understandable that Pens fans would be upset losing a homegrown American player, but to be so ignorant to the incredible Canadian and European players in the NHL is so dumb it's honestly hilarious. Even on his own Penguins team, they were carried to a dynasty with Crosby, Letang, Fleury, and Malkin!
The trade for Guentzel was definitely a bit underwhelming for the Penguins, not receiving a first round pick and only some low-profile prospects, but they all are lottery tickets for a player who might not be re-signed with the rebuilding Penguins team.
It's always great hearing some insane fan calls on the radio when sports fans get passionate about their team, and this one will certainly live on in infamy for how totally ignorant this guy is.
