oilers reporter reveals two potential changes coming
According to CapFriendly, the Edmonton Oilers are currently facing a challenge with the Salary Cap as they have no available cap space.
As a result, there may be some off-season moves in the near future to reduce the salary cap.
The team is considering trading some defensemen, with Brett Kulak and Cody Ceci being mentioned as potential trade pieces. The goal is to free up some cap space and increase flexibility in the future.
Ceci's current contract has 2 years left with an AAV of $3.25 Million, while Kulak has 3 years remaining at $2.75 Million AAV.
Although shedding these contracts may not significantly reduce the salary cap, it could make a difference in terms of adding depth to the team.
