Oilers defenceman calls out Radko Gudas for gutless response after elbow on Perry

The Edmonton Oilers played a fiery game last night against the Anaheim Ducks, including Radko Gudas throwing a cheap shot and refusing to answer the bell.
Gudas delivered a brutal flying elbow to the head of Corey Perry last night, resulting in multiple calls for a suspension.

Speaking to reporter Mark Spector after the game, Brett Kulak revealed multiple Oilers tried to challenge Gudas to a fight, but the Ducks captain refused to answer the bell.

«I think (Gudas) just answers the bell,» said the veteran defenceman. «He knows what he did, and I know he got challenged out there by multiple guys. That's probably the proper way it should have been done, but that's not the way it happened. So, yeah, it led to a chippy game.»

Kulak, along with other Oilers and fans, thought it was inexcusable that Gudas could throw a cheap shot like that and avoid any consequence - from a penalty, a suspension, or a fight. Hopefully Player Safety does decide to suspend Gudas.
The Oilers is right to say that while scrums make it look like they're doing something, they have to do more to actually stick up for their teammates after cheap shots like that - but Gudas still has to answer.
This should sting a little extra for the Oilers, given that the 39 year old Perry is always the first to stick up for his teammates. The Oilers need to have his back as well.
We'll see how the Oilers respond in what could be another chippy game against the St. Louis Blues back at home tomorrow. Maybe, the Oilers will get a few of their star players back in the lineup.
