At 40 years old and after an amazing 1052 career NHL games, Marc-Andre Fleury officially retired at the end of last season. The iconic goalie posted a .899 save percentage in 26 games for
the Minnesota Wild.
Marc-Andre Fleury's agent Allan Walsh claims 5 teams submitted contract offers to retired goalie
According to a new update from NHL agent Allan Walsh, several teams inquired about Marc-Andre Fleury, and seemed to be offering deals larger than $1M for the veteran goalie to come out of retirement.
July 1, I got called by 5 teams asking if there was any way Marc-Andre Fleury would un-retire.
He's made it pretty clear for now that he has no intention to play next year. They were prepared to make serious offers on 1 term deals.

If Fleury was maybe a few years younger and actually still playing, he may have been the ideal goaltender to share the crease of the Oilers intended to keep
Stuart Skinner. Fleury would be an incredible mentor, and fully capable himself of stepping in to play.
Fleury was a high-end goaltender for the duration of his career, with his save perctabbe dropping below 900 only in his final two seasons.
Mostly for his leadership, he would've been an ideal for the Oilers. If 5 teams made inquiries on Fleury, the Edmonton Oilers were surely included as the most desperate team for goalie help.
For now, the oilers will reportedly be pursuing a trade for a backup goaltender, and firing goalie coach Dustin Schwartz. Hopefully those changes will be enough to make serious changes next season.
