The Oilers will be working in tandem with Andrew Mangiapane's agent to find a trade for a better fit for the player - but he was given every chance to succeed in Edmonton.

Insiders have confirmed that Mangiapane is willing to waive his no-trade clause to find a better fit for him elsewhere. He was given a chance, but just never really did much with it.
Mangiapane's agent is now reportedly working with the team to facilitate a trade.
The Oilers had given Andrew Mangiapane's camp, his agent, permission to talk to other teams to seek a trade.

There was one more update at the end of the game, I was told that Stan [Bowman] has taken over, and was looking to make this happen.

Andrew Mangiapane was given a fair shot in Edmonton despite request for fresh start

Mangiapane's found himself in the bottom six and as a healthy scratch lately, but his play dragged him down the lineup.
Through the first 25 games of the season, Mangiapane played in the top six beside either McDavid or Draisaitl. During that time, he had only 8 points and a team-worst -18 on ice rating.
Even in Washington last season, Mangiapane was more productive playing mostly bottom six minutes. For whatever reason, he just never found a way to really make an impact in the Oilers' lineup. It wasn't from lack of ice-time or linemates early on this year. The only other thing they could've given him was special teams minutes.
It's fair to say that he's not a fit now, but the idea that Mangiapane wasn't given a fair shot just doesn't hold water.
Too often, offensive plays would just die on Mangiapane's stick. He failed to make an impact on the forecheck, or get into the face of the opposition. Defensively he's been fine, but the Oilers pay him $3.6M a year for some secondary scoring too.
Some fans still point to the coaching staff as a reason why Mangiapane and so many other free agents have had down seasons in Edmonton. Given Mangiapane's opportunity with the Oilers, this one doesn't look like it's on Knoblauch.
Now through 39 games with just 11 points, it looks like both Mangiapane and the Oilers are comfortable calling this a failed experiment and moving on.
Hopefully the Oilers can find a way to get better by clearing his cap hit, and bringing in a new player.
