A short time ago, former Edmonton Oilers enforcer George Laraque Made a shocking prediction on the X platform that Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby may be on the move before the end of the draft.

Rumors have been swirling around Crosby for the past several months as many had felt he may be willing to move off his no trade clause and go elsewhere.

Penguins amid a rebuild may not interest Crosby

The Pittsburgh Penguins have decided that a rebuild is necessary for the team as they have been devoid of draft picks and prospects and are unable to move the team forward.
Crosby has been fiercely loyal to the team his entire career and has told reporters and other NHL pundits that he has no desire to leave the Penguins anytime soon as he had re upped for another two years at $8.7 million per season.
However, since Laraque's report and the ensuing drama that Crosby could be traded, Nathan Mackinnon himself chimed in on social media that Crosby will not be leaving Pittsburgh.
Perhaps being out of the playoffs again after having the fun of the Four Nations faceoff has changed the star's mind and maybe looking to change addresses for another chance at a Stanley Cup.
Potentially watching former Boston Bruins an now Florida Panthers Brad Marchand winning his second Stanley Cup in his career after being traded to Florida could also be another reason.

Most teams would be highly interested in Crosby

If this rumor is true, and Crosby does change teams almost every NHL team would be lined up to try to bring Crosby to their team.
Several teams would certainly be of interest including the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs who are in desperate need of a new second line centre and the Colorado Avalanche who have been long rumored as the team that would be able to bring Crosby out of Pittsburgh.
All NHL fans and pundits will be waiting and watching to see if a trade will occur in the next several hours or days but there is certainly smoke to this fire as Kevin Weekes predicted Noah Dobson to be traded and he was shortly traded thereafter to the Canadiens.
