The Edmonton Oilers will get a major boost to their lineup tonight as Jack Roslovic is set to return from his injury.
Roslovic took a puck to the jock against the Dallas Stars on November 25th, and needed surgery to correct an issue down there. It's unbelievable that he's making his return so quickly - and it's great news for the Oilers.
Edmonton Oilers announce 3 roster moves before game vs. Vegas Golden Knights
The Oilers officially announced a pair of roster moves in accordance with activating Roslovic. Connor Clattenburg will head to the LTIR, and Quinn Hutson is being sent back to the AHL.
The 28-year old Roslovic was an unbelievable addition to the Oilers after signing a contract on opening night. It took him a few games to get up to speed, but then he took off as one of their most important offensive players.
Paired with either McDavid or Draisaitl, Roslovic had the offensive awareness and skill to work as a perfect complement to the superstars and capitalize on his chances.
He's scored 10 goals and 18 points in 23 games this year, becoming arguably the best offensive forward outside McDavid and Draisaitl. Getting him back in the lineup is key to improving the scoring depth of this team.
Quinn Hutson showed some real talent in his 3-game stint with the Oilers, scoring his first NHL goal against the Boston Bruins. He's been on fire in his rookie AHL season too, and will surely be a part of the Oilers roster in the future. Still just 23 years old and in the first year of a pro contract, there's plenty of time for him.
Connor Clattenburg on the other hand is still out for a lengthy amount of time after a high-stick, and moving to LTIR isn't a great sign. Hopefully he's able to get healthy soon, and back playing for any team. He was a great boost of energy to the team, and also has a future with the Oilers.
The addition of Roslovic will be a major boost for a huge game tonight against the rival Vegas Golden Knights. The Oilers still have a ways to go to get fully healthy, and to this point, we still haven't seen the team at their full potential.
