Sports Doctor gives his opinion on Tristan Jarry's injury and return timeline
The Oilers are eagerly awaiting a diagnosis for Tristan Jarry's injury, and a sports doctor online has weighed in to give his medical opinion.
Jarry left the Oilers road trip early for medical tests back in Edmonton, and has been officially placed on the injured reserve. No official updates have been released on his condition yet, other than the confirmation of a lower-body injury.

Dr. Harjas Grewal of UBC often shares his medical opinion on NHL injuries, and believes that Jarry suffered a muscle strain - specially to his groin.
Not a perfect angle but typical mechanism for a muscle strain here for Jarry
Initial push off to go to right but then before finishing movement, try's to move left as puck is that direction
Likely a groin strain and for goalies this is often week-to-week

Jarry being out week-to-week isn't an ideal scenario, especially so quickly after the trade. It would've been great to get him settled into the Oilers crease, but it doesn't look like that will be the case.
If he doesn't miss the next few weeks with a groin strain, there'll be significant pressure on either Calvin Pickard or Connor Ingram to prove themselves as a capable spot-starter. Both goalies have been struggling this season, although Pickard's been good in the last 2 games.
The Oilers finally addressed their starting goalie position, but the immediate injury shows the need for a capable backup option - in case this happens again in the playoffs.
Hopefully Pickard and Ingram cement themselves as an options for a playoff backup, but if not, the Oilers will be right back into the trade market for a new goalie.
