Dallas Stars owner and fanbase make incredible gesture to Mark Scheifele
According to reports after last night's emotional game, Dallas Stars owner Tom Gaglardi offered his private jet to Scheifele for a flight back to his hometown of Kitchener, Ontario.
As the rest of the Jets return to Winnipeg, it's an incredible and very helpful gesture for the Stars to fly Schiefele directly back home to be with his family.
Even Dallas Stars fans took an extra step to make an incredible gesture to Scheifele after the loss. Plenty of Stars fans donated $55 to one of Scheifele's charities,
the True North Youth Foundation. It's just a method of saying they care, and recognizing Scheifele's moment.
It was an emotional scene even in the handshake line, as Dallas Stars players also paid their sympathies to Scheifele.
It was one of the moments that transcends sports to see Scheifele so willing to play through the deep personal pain of losing his father, and of course, scoring the first goal of the game. Sports always have a way of becoming poetic, and Scheifele's strength and support produced an incredible moment.
The Stars fans' gestures too are an incredibly classy display that deserves all the respect in the world.
