This Edmonton Oilers defenseman is trending in the media for the wrong reasons

The Edmonton Oilers selected Philip Broberg in the first round of the 2019 NHL draft, 8th overall.

It is true that he has made the team this season, and he has played in the first three games for the Oilers.

While Broberg has played three games, he has been nothing but bagels with a plus-minus of -1.

This 1st round pick seems to be trending for all the wrong reasons today, as he is a healthy scratch tonight against John Tortorella's Philadelphia Flyers.

As a result of his performance over the past three games, Woodcroft will allow the defenseman, once compared to Oscar Klefbom, to regroup. In the meantime, Woodcroft will give defenseman Vincent Desharnais a chance to play.

As far as the decision to sit Broberg tonight goes, there seems to be no official explanation.
