Interesting News: The Edmonton Oilers wanted this Maple Leaf instead of Stuart Skinner
A third-round pick by the Edmonton Oilers, Skinner was selected 78th overall in the 2017 draft.
Interesting story by MacT on drafting Stuart Skinner in 2017:
«The Oilers stepped up, because we lost Woll to the Leafs the year before. We were gonna draft WollWe didn't want to lose Skinner. So as we got into the 3rd round, we traded up so we didn't lose him.»

However, they were unable to secure Joseph Woll, who was taken by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round, 62nd overall, in 2016.
Originally they were going to draft Woll, but they had to shift gears, as in the 2017 draft they had to trade Nail Yakupov for the 82nd overall pick, which was packaged with the 126th pick from St. Louis to move up to 78th from Arizona.
In turn, the team used this to select Stuart Skinner from the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Would you have imagined that the Edmonton native would one day play for his hometown team in the NHL?
The Oilers, however, didn't miss Woll at all since Skinner came to the NHL faster than Woll did.
