A practice-related injury led to the loss of key forward Jordan Eberle for the Seattle Kraken.
In practice on Wednesday, Eberle's leg was injured by a skate. A puck was stepped on by Jaden Schwartz, which caused his skate blade to accidentally cut Eberle.
Hakstol also says Eberle is considered day-to-day #SeaKraken
According to head coach Dave Hakstol, the forward is day to day after being hospitalized and completing an MRI.
GM Ron Francis said the injury occurred near the quad muscle, so the forward was fortunate to avoid serious tendon damage.
Due to Eberle's injury, the Kraken had to call up Coachella Valley Firebirds forwards Shane Wright and Ryan Winterton.
In Eberle's case, the injury came right on the cusp of Adam Johnson's death in the EIHL, which has prompted serious questions about safety in hockey culture.
Eberle has had 4 points in 13 games this season, as the Kraken have started off slow.
