A Trade By The Edmonton Oilers is Expected Within The Next 24 Hours

Earlier this year, NHL Insider Allan Mitchell of The Athletic speculated that Ken Holland would use his best assets for a trade in the near future.

A trade by the Oilers in the next 24 hours is possible. Remember the Kostin-Samorukov deal. I just hope that if they do make a trade it's a name I can pronounce. You know, like Cournoyer.

Holland traded Klim Kostin and Kailer Yamamoto to clear the salary cap for future deals, and despite the pain of losing Klim Kostin, he will have to dig deep to get the best players.

In order to accomplish that, the team may move its next first-round pick in 2024, or they may also move Stuart Skinner or Raphael Lavoie, who is currently a complication for the Oilers.
