The Athletic shows how garbage they are with anti-Oilers voting list

The Athletic released their current Conn Smythe votes list and it's just as atrocious as you'd imagine it would be.

On the Athletic's list, Wyatt Johnston currently leads the list in points despite not even leading in points on his own team. Miro heiskanen leads the Stars in points as a defenseman, and even though Johnston has been amazing he definitely doesn't deserve the Conn Smyth over Heiskanen.

This isn't even the biggest issue with the list, as Draisaitl lead the postseason in points with 24 and doesn't even have a single vote on the list. This is absolutely absurd, as Draisaitl has over double the points of their predicted Conn Smythe winner with one more goal as well. It's also crazy that Auston Matthews had more votes before the first round than Draisaitl does currently, when he is the points leader. This shows how out of touch the Athletic is with hockey and it's crazy that they expect people to pay to get access to this garbage.

This is on top of the fact that 87% of writers at The Athletic took the Stars over the Oilers. It's understandable to have one team favoured over another, but when you have two teams who are this close the margin shouldn't be that wide. It shows the obvious bias that The Athletic has against the Oilers, if they have the Oilers that low against the Stars despite being the healthier team.

The Athletic's NHL department are obviously out of touch with the sport that they are supposed to run, because their bias against the Oilers is too evident.
