The Edmonton Oilers secured a much-needed convincing win over the Seattle Kraken, and Stuart Skinner nailed the feeling behind their effort tonight.
So far this season the Oilers have been criticized at times for not bringing enough emotion, but that changed tonight. The Oilers played a hard and physical game, sticking up for each other at all points - but it may have gone even deeper than that.

Speaking after the game, Skinner made it clear that the team came together to battle for each other. With all of the trade noise going on right now surrounding Skinner, that was a big sign the team had his back, and everyone else's.
I feel like we just really played a solid game. You kind of felt that we were just all fighting for each other. I think that's the feeling I had. Some chemistry and camaraderie between the guys in there.

After being directly confronted even by reporters earlier this week that he could be booted out of Edmonton, this is a key response from Skinner and the Oilers.
It shows that the bond between these teammates is something that's still there, and perhaps is stronger than any other team in the NHL. This core of players have been through 2 brutal heartbreaks together, and know how to dial it up when it matters. With the noise surrounding their team this week, today's game mattered.
Now, they just need to sustain that effort, and they'll climb back up the standings into a playoff spot - and make another run at the Stanley Cup.
