Sportsnet confirms Jack Michaels on Oilers playoff broadcast this season
After the official release of the playoff seeding and schedule, Sportsnet has confirmed the broadcast teams for all Canadian playoff series - including Jack Michaels with Louie DeBrusk on the Oilers broadcast.
It's truly going to be electric to finally have the Oilers home crew calling their own playoff games. Even casual fans can find themselves entertained by the passion of Michaels calling «pulsating hockey». Not only that, but current crew deserves to stay with the team through the playoffs after covering them all season.
Unlike the usual standards of National broadcasters, Jack Michaels doesn't try to take an unbiased view of calling the games.
He's a clear Oilers fan in the calls, always bringing out incredible energy and passion for the most tense moments of the season.
Even though he didn't call games on TV in the playoffs in the past, he's still had some fantastic calls - especially in last year's run. Hopefully the Oilers give him some equally good moments with a deep run this year.
It's awesome that Sportsnet has finally listened to the fans and put their home broadcaster on the air for the most important games of the year. It will add so much more the hype around the playoffs this year.
