The Edmonton Oilers have taken to the ice for their first practice in Dallas before Game 1 of the Western Conference Final, and have revealed their expected lineup.
The Oilers also got some good news from
Mattias Ekholm, who may be in line for a return far sooner than expected.
Edmonton Oilers reveal lines at practice with Connor Brown still absent
Line rushes remained the same as yesterday according to reporters at Oilers practice, including Connor Brown not being on the ice. In his place,
Viktor Arvidsson is skating on the third line right wing.
According to the Coach after practice, Brown is a game time decision for tonight. With a healthy Arvidsson ready to go, the choice is clear that Brown should not play.
Oilers may get good news on Mattias Ekholm very soon
The most recent reports from Oilers insider Bob Stauffer reported Ekholm was most likely to return in Game 5 or 6 vs Dallas. However, Ekholm has now joined the team in Dallas and has skated at full pace in multiple practices.
Now, Oilers reporter Mark Spector is suggesting a return before Game 2 could be possible - and it could've been playoff mind games with his moving return timeline. Additionally,
Calvin Pickard is not with the team in Dallas.
If Ekholm is back skating at full speed, cleared by doctors, and ready to enter the lineup, the Oilers are about to get a whole lot better.
Game 1 of the Western Conference Final begins tonight. Get ready Oilers fans!
