The Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars will meet once again in this year's Western Conference Final, and this time Dallas is looking for payback.
The Oilers have already been named as underdogs in the upcoming series, with most NHL analysts predicting the Oilers to lose to the Stars - maybe even in 6 games.
Dallas Stars send direct message to Edmonton Oilers that they're ready to take over
Before Game 1 in Dallas tonight, several Stars players mentioned in their media comments that they haven't forgotten losing to Edmonton last year, and are looking to take care of unfinished business now.
It's huge. We want to beat them this time, we don't want to lose two in a row against the same team. We want to beat them and get to the final for sure.

Miro Heiskanen That's all we wanted after we lost last year was this opportunity. The fact that we get to play Edmonton again makes it even better.

The players seem intensely locked in for their chance to go to the Stanley Cup Final, and even more motivated by the fact they lost to Edmonton last year.
Stars coach Pete DeBoer accurately acknowledged how much the Oilers have improved this postseason, especially with depth scoring away from McDavid and Draisaitl. He knows he's in for the ultimate challenge against the Oilers stars.
They're a different team this year. You know, I think a lot like Colorado, they're a better team this year. They're a deeper team this year than they were last year. You see they're getting scoring from a lot of places other than McDavid and Draisaitl, and they still have that element, obviously, every night. I believe we're a better version of ourselves from last year, too.
- Pete DeBoer
As for their lineup, Dallas is making some significant changes before Game 1, including a big promotion to the second line for
Matt Duchene.
The Dallas Stars are looking for payback on the Edmonton Oilers, and hopefully, it turns out just like it did for the Los Angeles Kings.
The Oilers feel like a team of destiny for so many reasons. Their health miraculously improved just in time for playoffs, their depth scoring has arrived, their backup goalie bailed them out, and they've still got McDavid and Draisaitl hungry for their first win. Any team in the Oilers path should be terrified.
