The Edmonton Oilers have arrived in Dallas for Game 1 of the Conference Finals, but goalie Calvin Pickard is staying at home due to injury.

The veteran backup goalie was called upon for Game 3 of the first round and went on an incredible 6-0 run, before being injured in a net-front collision with Vegas forward Tomas Hertl.

Calvin Pickard still not travelling with Oilers, rookie Olivier Rodrigue will back up

According to Oilers reporter Mark Spector, Calvin Pickard did not travel with the team to Dallas. That means rookie Olivier Rodrigue will continue to back up Stuart Skinner for the two opening road games.
Also, Calvin Pickard is NOT on the trip. He stayed home to continue rehab.
Rodrigue is a 24 year old Oilers goalie prospect with only 2 games on NHL experience, and he'll be the only option aside from Skinner for the first 2 games.
Stuart Skinner was able to turn his game around when called upon after the Pickard injury, and posted back to back shutouts to seal a series win against a playoff-hardened Vegas team. In last year's playoffs, Skinner was great against the Dallas Stars too.

Pressure is on Stuart Skinner with no option to turn to Pickard in series opener vs Dallas Stars

Skinner was great against Vegas, but there's still a risk that it could turn again. Especially with the first two games of the series on the road, he'll be under some pressure to keep the Oilers in the game with no real backup option to turn to.
Hopefully Skinner can answer the moment again, and help lift the Oilers back to the Stanley Cup Final to take care of unfinished business.
