Oilers fans call out questionable penalty call on Connor McDavid vs. Devils

In Edmonton's most recent attempt to string together three-consecutive wins, it was two bad calls from the refs that helped determine the outcome instead.
In a game where every other play can be deemed an embellishment, the refs picked a one-goal game to make the little-used call, and on a player whose every stride is made honestly and at full speed, as the following video shows.
Bad call results in bad outcome for Oilers
Of course, it wasn't the only dubious penalty the refs called which went against the Oilers and the result.
Already down to 11 forwards, Vasily Podkolzin backed-up his captain McDavid and fought late in the first period, receiving the instigator penalty as a result.
The commentators unanimously deemed it a bad call, as both players agreed to fight from the start.
Still, Edmonton did not play well in the first two periods, even if it did turn it on for the 3rd, outshooting the Devils 13-3. Were it not for Jake Allen, the Oilers might have come away with a third-straight victory.
Playing without Leo Draisaitl didn't help matters either, as the second-highest scorer on his team missed another game for personal reasons.
Last night was Edmonton ninth attempt this season to win their third consecutive game. The flip side is that they've been able to win consecutive games nine times, allowing them to accumulate much needed points.
Edmonton must now put the game behind them, bad calls and all, and focus on the next. They currently sit two points behind Vegas for 1st in the Pacific.
