During a recent interview, Oilers' goalie Connor Ingram spoke openly about his time in Edmonton, and how his wife Sarah has been a huge support.
«It feels good right now. I mean, my life's just hockey. There are a couple days a week I don't even make it outside. I just walk through the pedway (from the JW Marriott) over here. I sleep and play hockey right now - it's an easy life."
The only hard part is that his wife is back in Bakersfield for the time being.
'I've got two dogs down there, so somebody's got to look after them. Poor Sarah's down there by herself. I miss my family, I miss my dogs. But right now it's just simple. And I think that's helping."

Ingram overcomes personal challenges
We sometimes forget that professional athletes are regular people, with everyday challenges, some more serious than others.
Ingram's NHL journey has been filled with obstacles and personal difficulties, all of which he's overcome in large part because of his wife Sarah's support.
Connor entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program twice over this career, the most recent being March 2025 to manage obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and grief following the death of his mother.
And he's been vocal about his family's support.

He credits his wife, father, and brothers, along with professional therapists from the NHL program, for helping him navigate what he refers to as his 'dark days'.
Now in Edmonton, Ingram's routine of home and rink has contributed to a simplicity in life that no doubt helps his mental health challenges, focusing on what he enjoys and can control, and putting aside stressors over which he has no control.
What he does control, which he's done well since arriving in Edmonton, is his goal, in which he's had eight quality starts out of the 9 games he's dressed.
In those games, Connor has a 2.22 GAA and .917 SV%. In fact, if you remove his worst performance against Boston, his save percentage is .934.
The 28-year old goalie from Saskatoon has clearly come through his difficulties with a positive perspective, as his play clearly shows.
It's something he does well, perform and win that is. Ingram won the Masterton Trophy with the Arizona Coyotes, which recognizes the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey, for the 2023-24 season, as per NHL.com
