The Edmonton Oilers have struggled to meet expectations right away this year, and Coach Knoblauch is calling on the team to step up.
The Oilers were the worse team in the majority of their last game against Montreal, but were still able to squeak out a win with some helpful penalty calls. Edmonton proved their resilience, but they need to be better overall.

Speaking to the media before today's game against Seattle, Coach Knoblauch revealed that the Oilers have met and reviewed their recent mistakes, and must be better moving forward.
We've reviewed it, we've discussed it as a team after the game last night. Just things that we need to clean up. We're not playing very good hockey right now. We've got to improve a lot of things.
- Coach Knoblauch
The Oilers have avoided a totally slow start to the season, but they clearly haven't met anyway near their peak yet.
Most notably, their star players and offence haven't been firing at full strength this year.
Connor McDavid still has only 1 goal through 8 games this year.
Coach Knoblauch has been aggressively moving around the lineups, which may hurt some players settling into their roles - but at the same time, he's searching for combinations that work.
Tonight's lineup with McDavid, Draisaitl, and Nugent-Hopkins playing centre is arguably their most balanced lineup.
With 3 veterans and leaders driving their own line, the Oilers should be able to handle any opponent. They'll be looking to get right back on track tonight against Seattle.
