Oilers address big problem with fan watch party with new announcement

The new area will allow more fans to gather to watch the Oilers chance to eliminate the Kings tonight, along with the Moss Pit and the original Fan Park. But really, this is a logistical change that addresses a massive problem.

This new area meet the demand of fans who want to come out to Rogers Place to watch a game, while also addressing a problem of overcrowding.

The new Fan Park North will feature everything fans will need to enjoy the game - its own television, food trucks, and drinks being served, with free but limited admission.

Most importantly, the new Fan Park will have a distinct entrance and exit on 105 avenue. With so many people coming out to games, overcrowding has mostly been an issue at entrances and exits. Hopefully this will divert some foot traffic and create a better experience.

As per usual, the playoff watch parties will open 90 minutes prior to puck drop, though fans may want to arrive earlier.

The playoff atmosphere in Edmonton has been incredible and will only continue to grow if their run continues. There's an electric feeling as every single Edmontonian begins locking in to the Oilers.

With a chance to eliminate the Kings again and punch their ticket to the second round tonight, Rogers Place will be a rowdy environment and will hopefully be headed home happy.
