NHL analyst raises shocking prediction on Connor McDavid for rest of playoffs

The Edmonton Oilers are about to head into the second round for a highly anticipated matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights, and one NHL analyst isn't expecting much from Connor McDavid.
Earlier in the playoffs, McDavid called out doubters of the Oilers picking them for an early spring, showing how much he believes in himself and his team to win it all.
NHL analyst predicts Vegas will shut down Connor McDavid to average production
According to TSN's Travis Yost, the four remaining teams in the western conference have defended Connor McDavid the best in the NHL. Against Vegas, McDavid has scored close to a league average pace.
Yost doesn't outwardly predict that McDavid will have a down scoring first round, but it will certainly be more difficult to score against teams with a better history of defending the best player.
Connor McDavid among most clutch NHL players in playoff history
Although Vegas has defended McDavid well in the regular season, the playoffs is a different animal, and McDavid treats it as such.
In the Oilers vs Vegas series in 2023, McDavid scored 10 points in 6 games, but it wasn't enough to lift them to a victory.
Connor McDavid elevates his game to the level of the greats in the postseason. He's already scored 10 points in a playoff series 8 times out of only 14 chances - which is better than Messier, and on par with Gretzky.
Vegas is certainly going to play the clutch and grab style against Edmonton and specifically McDavid, but he will surely still find a way to overcome their efforts, and take the Oilers to the third round.
