It was revealed earlier today that the Vegas Golden Knights revealed that their ticket prices at T-Mobile arena will not exceed 50% from the previous round which has many fans angered.
Dave Staples of the Edmonton Journal posted a tweet showing that the Golden Knights start stating clearly to the fans that prices will be going up but will not exceed a certain level which is still going to be an expensive change.
Playoff tickets are the gravy for all NHL franchises who make it
The NHL playoffs are the gravy for any NHL franchise who makes the tournament as the salaries of the players comes to an end and all home gate revenue is nearly pure profit for ownership.
Many have commented on how much the tickets have gone up considering the circumstances around the world and the economic state that many families are finding themselves in.
Many have expressed that they are unable to purchase these tickets at these prices simply as they do not have extra income which has been an issue for some franchises like the Winnipeg Jets who have had trouble selling out their building over the past couple of years.
Edmonton is no stranger of price ticket increases as well and prices at Rogers Place have certainly gone up now that the team has gone into the second round.
It seems no matter how much the tickets go up, the building is always sold out which is great for the franchise's health and the ownership's bottom line.
Oilers will be on the road again to start Round Two
With the first round now closed, and three Canadian teams including the Oilers remain in the top 8, the Oilers will now be on the road again to start Round 2 where they will face off at T-Mobile Arena.
It will be an interesting series to say the least and much will be made about game one to see how the Oilers can handle the Vegas Golden Knights as many feel that this team is not the same as it was when the Oilers lost the last time they met.
Game one will take place on May 6th and game time will be at 9:30 PM eastern.
