The Edmonton Oilers themselves have been connected to Taylor Hall in trade this season, and even in free agency next year.
According to a recent report from Scott Powers in the Athletic, Hall is the most likely Blackhawk to be traded this year, and he'll go for awfully low price of just a third round pick.
It's extremely surprising to hear that a player with the pedigree of Taylor Hall could go for so cheap in a trade. He's a former first overall pick, and a hart trophy winner.
Although Hall could go for as cheap as a third, they could increase his trade value by retaining some of his $6M salary.

Secondary scoring as always, but a reunion with Taylor Hall doesn't make any sense.
The Oilers would be better suited spending their limited cap space and assets this season to upgrade defence or goaltending.
If the Oilers do make a trade for upgrading their forward group, it more likely will be to acquire a power forward, not a player like Taylor Hall.
Still, if Hall would come back on a cheap team-friendly deal, maybe the Oilers should consider.
