Edmonton Oilers make incredible change to Rogers Place Arena before Game 1

The Edmonton Oilers have one of the best home ice environments in the NHL, and this playoffs they're making it much more personal to the players.
The Oilers will have home ice advantage in the Final for the first time this playoffs, and last season, the players said it could've been the difference between a win and loss in Game 7.
Edmonton Oilers add pieces of hometown rink ice to Rogers Place before Stanley Cup Final
An initiative campaign from Rogers titled 'This is Our Ice', samples of the hometown rinks of Oilers players have been collected to be placed in Rogers Place for the Cup Final.
Samples of ice were collected from six rinks across Canada and transported in thermoses back to Edmonton.
According to CBC, Rogers travelled to the hometown rinks of Darnell Nurse, Connor McDavid, Calvin Pickard, Evander Kane, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Stuart Skinner - spanning from Newmarket Ontario to North Vancouver BC.
The Magna Centre in Newmarket, Ont., where McDavid played for the York-Simcoe Express AAA organization from about age 10 to 15.
The Rink in Winnipeg, where Calvin Pickard practices during the off-season.
North Shore Winter Club in Vancouver, where Kane started playing minor hockey at 14.
Burnaby Winter Club in Burnaby, B.C., where Ryan Nugent-Hopkins played minor hockey from 2006 to 2008.
Confederation Leisure Centre in Edmonton, which is affiliated with the hockey program Stuart Skinner played with while in high school.

The rabid fans of Oil County and the unconditional love they have for the team has always produced a unique feeling for the players on home ice - but now, it'll feel even a little more like home for them. Between their personal connection to home ice and Oilers fans madly cheering, Rogers Place will be giving a boost to the team through the Finals.
