Oilers looking to make a call up to replace Hyman
Many felt that Derek Ryan's career with the Oilers was over after he was demoted to the Condors earlier on this year.
He remained with the organization as he accepted a mentor role for the American League hockey team and hoped that he would have another shot in the NHL.
With Hyman out, the Oilers may look at a veteran forward this time rather than a young player as the team has had struggles over the past couple of weeks and could use some veteran guidance to help them stabilize the team and ignite more offense.
Ryan has played 13 games for the Condors scored three goals with five assists for eight points and is a - 10.
Oilers waiting for injured reinforcements to arrive
All three players will help ignite the Oilers offence and give them some more grit and physicality to their game as they are one of the lowest hitting teams in the NHL.
Adding Ryan to the mix would give the Oilers even more leadership help especially in their bottom six forwards in hopes that the team can find more scoring and have a strong finish to the season as the playoffs are less than one month away.
The Oilers will continue their eastern road trip as they take on the New York Rangers on March 16th and game time will be 7:00 PM eastern.
