The Edmonton Oilers dropped the first game to the Dallas Stars in a third period meltdown, but Corey Perry was out to send a message before the buzzer.

At 40 years old, Perry is still a quality player and the ultimate agitator for the Edmonton Oilers. Last night he showed it by targeting Stars defenceman Lian Bichsel.

Corey Perry mocks Dallas Stars defenceman Lian Bichsel for turtling to end Game 1

Moments before the end of the game, Perry led a group of Oilers to send a message that they won't go down quietly to the Dallas Stars.
Perry was the player to begin initiating the scrum, and was the first player to whip off his gloves to fight. Perry started going directly after Lian Bichsel, who didn't take off his gloves at all. Afterward, Perry mocked him for his turtling motion.
The 40 year old Oilers forward has been unbelievable all season, scoring 19 goals and exceeding every expectation for a player his age. He's also still clearly engaged in the antics of his game, and doesn't shy away from a physical battle with far younger players.
This was great to see from Perry, but he also did cost the team with a brutal high sticking penalty as part of their disaster third period.
At the end of the day though, the Oilers have to flush the result. They need to be far more disciplined next game, but still, Perry's scrum at the final buzzer will send a message that there's a lot more to come from Edmonton.
Next game, they've got to be far more disciplined, play a full 60 minutes, and they should get a better result.
