Connor McDavid and Oilers make special appearance for Lauren McDavid before Game 3
Right as the Edmonton Oilers returned home from Dallas, a large group of players came together to celebrate Lauren McDavid's new restaurant opening in Edmonton before Game 3.
Edmonton Oilers appear at McDavid's new restaurant night before Game 3
Lauren's new restaurant will be called Bar Trove, and will open in downtown Edmonton in the historic Canada Permanent Building.
Bar Trove had their ceremonial opening last night, and even after a day of travel and before a critical Game 3, multiple Oilers players came out to support Lauren. Of course that included
Connor McDavid, his agent, and his childhood friends.
The wives and girlfriends of many Oilers players also came out to support Lauren and Bar Trove.
For the team to come together for such a personal event for their Captain's wife in the middle of the playoffs shows just how close they are off the ice. To do so before a matinee game the next day is even gutsy, perhaps throwing off their routine.
Most importantly, Lauren McDavid opening a restaurant in downtown Edmonton and putting down deep personal roots is obviously a great sign for the Captain's pending contract status. Clearly building his family life in Edmonton, there's no chance McDavid leaves in free agency.
It's a great sight to see the players come together during the playoffs like this. This is a special group, and hopefully, they can solidify it with a Stanley Cup parade ending with dinner at Bar Trove.
