Crucial announcement regarding Jesse Puljujarvi's future Playing Hockey
When Jesse Puljujarvi recovered from double hip surgery, he went straight to work in an effort to prove he was ready to return to the NHL.
Having not been signed by the Carolina Hurricanes, he didn't appear to be a shoo-in even for a league minimum contract.
In this situation, Puljujarvi became an unrestricted free agent, a ronin without a master, and he has wanted nothing more than to return to the NHL.
A return to the NHL is expected for the depth winger by December, according to NHL Insider Chris Johnston.
The forward was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes but wasn't granted a qualifying offer.
Despite being drafted 4th overall in the 2016 NHL entry draft, the 25-year-old has never lived up to his expectations. A total of 51 goals and 63 assists have been scored by Puljujarvi in 334 NHL games.
