When the Oilers lost the third game of the series, Connor McDavid spoke with full belief the team could come back, and he's been locked in ever since.

In a new fan-recorded video next to the Oilers bench after Game 5, every Oiler stood up to celebrate the dominant win, but McDavid remained seated, knowing it was only one small step.

Facing a near impossible series deficit, Connor McDavid has been incredibly vocal about his belief that the team can still come back to win the Stanley Cup. Like earlier this year when they were near last place, McDavid and the Oilers know they have the ability to pull themselves out of any situation.

McDavid's leadership off the ice has been just as impressive as his play on the ice - which is saying something. Now with 42 points, McDavid is only 5 away from tying Wayne Gretzky's record for most points in a playoffs in NHL history. If the Oilers can force a Game 7, it's entirely possible that McDavid overtakes the record for the best playoff performance of all time. Even if the Oilers lose, he'll likely win the Conn Smythe Trophy for MVP.

If the Oilers can force a Game 7 and shift all the pressure onto the Panthers, this series will officially become a coin toss. It's incredible the way the Oilers have battled back in this series already, and if they can defend home ice tonight, it'll be a proper send off to this team, regardless if they win the Cup or not. Tonight's game is an absolute must watch game for any hockey fan.
