Timeline of Connor McDavid contract updated by TSN insider

Recently, Oilers insider Bob Stauffer reported that Leon Draisaitl will be getting married in the first weekend of August, and a contract could get done shortly after that. Now, another insider is following up this report.

TSN Insider Ryan Rishaug also reported earlier that an extension for McDavid could be upcoming early in the month of August. That lines up with Stauffer's timeline as well, adding some real smoke to an upcoming extension.

It's been a tad unnerving for Oilers fans that contract talks for McDavid have been very quiet lately, so it's extremely reassuring to hear even a rough timeline for when the two parties will get together for a contract extension.

There should be no real worry for fans anyway, as Oilers insiders have nearly guaranteed he'll be re-signing. Leon Draisaitl didn't get his extension done until September, and there should be no worry even if McDavid goes unsigned that long.

However, this is the best player in the world we're talking about. There will be some unrest until pen has hit paper and McDavid is locked up again on the Edmonton Oilers - but the Captain isn't going anywhere from the best environment for him to win, and for his family.
