The Edmonton Oilers have taken to the ice for practice today ahead of Game 4 vs the Dallas Stars, and will make one line change after a confirmed injury to Connor Brown.
Oilers insider reveals Connor Brown ruled out for multiple games, lineup change coming
According to a new update from Oilers insider Jason Gregor, Connor Brown has been ruled out for at least tomorrow's game and likely more.
The NHL's concussion protocol requires players to miss at least 1 week after a head trauma. Brown's injury likely falls under this classification. It's unbelievable that the NHL determines how long Brown misses, but makes no call on Petrovic.
In Brown's absence,
Viktor Arvidsson took some extra reps in practice. It's believed that he'll draw into the lineup in Brown's place for Game 4.
Oilers get Calvin Pickard back from injury, update status of several other players
Other than Brown, the Oilers got fantastic news on several other injuries at practice. To begin the practice, Calvin Pickard made his way on the ice to skate with the team for the first time since sustaining an injury against Vegas.
Additionally,
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and
Trent Frederic were cleared from any injuries that would prevent them from playing. Both players suffered an injury scare in Game 3.
It's a tough blow to lose an identity player like Connor Brown from the third line, but the Oilers depth will be able to survive his injury.
Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery, and will at least be ready to go if the Oilers clinch another Cup Final berth.
