Let's say by August the 28th, which is a Thursday, a month from today, I could foresee a scenario where extensions are done on Podzkolzin, Walman, Ekholm, and McDavid. Seravalli and myself both said 100 percent that Connor would re-sign.

For Connor McDavid, August 28th will be a significant date which could help contract negotiations. Team Canada will run their orientation camp in Calgary from August 26-28. It seems that the Oilers would like to get McDavid signed right as he returns to Edmonton.
The 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast is reporting the same information now, also specifically mentioning August 28th. Additionally, the 2 Mutts Podcast says it will be a 2-4 year contract near $17.5M.
There's now significant traction behind reports of McDavid re-signing with the Oilers right after Team Canada's training camp. For the time being, he's still enjoying the offseason and currently on a holiday with Leon Draisaitl.
When the Captain returns to Edmonton, there's clearly strong belief that he'll be signing his contract extension immediately.
