The Edmonton Oilers are currently missing their new starter Tristan Jarry, but he should be returning from his injury fairly soon.

Jarry went down with a lower-body injury in just his 3rd start with the Oilers, a disappointing break after he was settling in nicely with Edmonton. There was concern is could be a longer-term injury, but GM Stan Bowman believes he will be back soon.

Oilers GM Stan Bowman updates Tristan Jarry injury

On the most recent edition of OilersNow, insider Bob Stauffer asked GM Bowman about Jarry's return timeline - which is expected to be in the month of January.
STAUFFER: You said relatively soon involving Tristan Jarry. So are we talking before the end of the month of January?

BOWMAN: I would think so. But I don't want to speak it because I've been away. I haven't spoken to the doctor - We'll get an update on that pretty soon. I'll speak to everyone after the game. But I think the good news is, it's not a long-term injury where he's going to miss significant months or anything like that.

Bowman and Stauffer both suggested Jarry is dealing with a lower-body or core injury, which makes sense after he awkwardly slid across and slowly skated off the ice.
Coach Knoblauch also had an update, revealing that Jarry is expected to return near mid-January, but not any earlier.
Jarry didn't put up stellar numbers in his 3 games with the Oilers, only posting a .887 save percentage, but he did go undefeated with a positive goals saved above expected.
He's going to be their main starter moving forward, so they'd like him to get back in the net with regular reps again.
