The Edmonton Oilers are on the ice for morning skate in Pittsburgh this morning, getting ready to take on Stuart Skinner for the first time since the trade.
Skinner and Kulak missed 2 games due to delays getting their work permits in the United States. The Penguins have officially declared them ready to go now, and they'll be in the lineup tonight.
Edmonton Oilers name starting lines in first game against Stuart Skinner
According to reporters at practice today, the Oilers are expected to deploy the following lines.
The top six forward groups will remain the same, and they've begun to develop some chemistry over the last few weeks. The top line is a classic combination, and Savoie's begun to find his way with Draisaitl and Podkolzin.
Quinn Hutson will come in on the 4th line, with Max Jones and David Tomasek sitting as healthy scratches. Hopefully the superstar-scorer prospect gets a few more minutes than playing with Frederic - otherwise it will be difficult to do what Hutson does, and score goals.
As for Pittsburgh, both Kulak and Skinner will get into the lineup. Kulak will be playing on the third pair, and Skinner is tonight's starting goalie.
It will be an emotional game to see these two long-time Oilers so soon after the trade. Jarry will be challenged to be his best against his former team, while Skinner has the challenge of facing the Oilers elite offence for the first time. The Penguins are also reeling with major blown leads in recent games.
Hopefully the Oilers can bag a win, and get even more confidence in their new goalie.
