The Edmonton Oilers scored 4 goals in the third period of a must win game tonight to take their playoff series to 2-1 against Los Angeles, and one goal challenge may have been the turning point.

Evander Kane jammed in a puck in the crease after battling for position, and after review, was called a good goal without a kick. Then, the Kings challenged for goalie interference.

Horrible LA Kings challenge may have change complexion of entire series

Los Angeles had very little grounds to challenge Kane's goal for goalie interference.
Kane was in the crease while he kicked the puck to his stick and scored, which is the only possible factor they could've seen. Kane was pushed in by Anze Kopitar, and didn't impeded Kuemper from making a save - not satisfying nah condition for goalie interference.
When the goal was rightfully called a good goal, the Oilers go the powerplay and capitalized on the chance to put the game I their control.
If the Oilers can come back and win this series, this challenge and series of goals may be the critical turning point for Edmonton. The Oilers capitalized on their chances, and the Kings mistakes put them in a terrible position.
After the game, Kings coach Hiller stood by the call, saying they believed it was goalie interference.

NHL analysts sound off on Kings brutal goal challenge

With so little evidence for goalie interference and such high stakes for making the wrong call, NHL fans everywhere are dumbfounded by Jim Hiller's challenge,
If the Oilers can get another huge win on home ice, they'll have dragged themselves entirely back into the series and given them another chance for a long run.
Now considering their significant comebacks in Game 1 and 3, the Oilers should have plenty of belief that they can win this series.
The Oilers have been facing an uphill battle this postseason, and tonight, they once again showed they're up to the challenge.
