The Edmonton Oilers have their backs entirely against the wall now, and Leon Draisaitl is sending a hardcore message to his team.
The Oilers have set new lines in practice today for Game 6, doubling down on the veteran players that have got them to this point in the postseason. Now, there's no room for error.
Leon Draisaitl sends direct media's to entire Oilers roster
The Oilers cannot follow the trends they've set earlier in this series of falling behind early and chasing the game again - not in an elimination scenario. Leon Draisaitl called on the entire team to raise their game to another level for tonight, especially off the start.
If we wanted to win, we would have had to win this game here on the road anyway. For us, it's about trying to get to our game a little bit quicker. I think playing better. I think we still haven't seen our best, and now it'll be a great time to show it.

Connor McDavid echoed a similar statement the day before, and even made sure to include himself in the call-out. The Oilers stars have seen a mostly negative goal differential this Final, something that will need to change if they are going to win.
«I think everybody has another level. Myself included. For whatever reason, our group doesn't like to make it easy on ourselves. [We] put ourselves in another difficult spot and it;s our job to work our way out of it.
- Connor McDavid
Thankfully, Connor McDavid has been among the most clutch players of all time when facing elimination. If there's any time you can bet on McDavid to show up, it's tonight.
At the same time, the time for talk is long past for McDavid and Draisaitl. It's Game 6, and a do or die scenario. The play on the ice will speak for itself.
