Edmonton Oilers develop shocking discrepancy in Stanley Cup Final

With their backs against the wall in an elimination scenario, the Edmonton Oilers need a moment of dominance from McDavid and Draisaitl - something that hasn't happened yet this series.
Some of the Panthers elite forwards haven't had a very productive Final yet either, but it may cast some light on their strategy to smother the Oilers' offensive stars.
Oilers offensive stars have been shut down in Stanley Cup Final
Maybe the most shocking part about the Stanley Cup Final so far is that the Oilers have actually won more of their minutes without McDavid and Draisaitl on the ice.
Without McDavid and Draisaitl, the team is maintaining a 50% goal score, but far less with them on the ice. When McDavid and Draisaitl have been separated, even then they've posted a sub 50% expected goals.
When the two superstars are united, they've dominated with a 64% expected goal share, but it hasn't translated into results.
To explain the discrepancy in goal share and expected goals, it looks like the Oilers superstars just haven't had their chances fall, and maybe could've used an extra save from the goalie.
Simply put though, the Oilers need to win the minutes without McDavid and Draisaitl on the ice or they won't have a chance to win the Cup.
With their backs against the wall in an elimination game tonight, the Oilers stars need to come through to force a Game 7 back on home ice - and from there, destiny will be in their hands. Right now, all eyes are on
Connor McDavid and
Leon Draisaitl to meet the moment, and carry the Oilers to a championship.
