Oilers defenceman Troy Stecher announces marriage, shares pictures of ceremony
Stecher got married last week, and photos are beginning to emerge from the event and ceremony. Being from Richmond, BC, it looks like Stecher got married in the Vancouver area.
Today, the Edmonton Oilers took a moment to congratulate Stecher on his big day.
Although he's now with the Edmonton Oilers, Stecher's wedding looked like a big reunion for his time with the Vancouver Canucks. In fact,
Chris Tanev and
Brock Boeser were named Stecher's groomsmen.
Through last year's season and into the playoffs, Stecher continuously surpassed expectations and was a quality depth defenceman for the Edmonton Oilers.
The team now has a slight logjam at defence which may see someone shipped out, and given Stecher's great play, it'd be hard to see him go. He's still under contract for next season at a team-friendly value of $787K.
A journeyman undersized defenceman throughout his entire career, Stecher has defied the odds to be a solid two-way player on every team he's played for. Now 31 years old, Stecher has amassed 560 NHL games with the Canucks, Red Wings, Kings, Coyotes, Flames and Oilers.
We here at OilersDaily and all fans wish Stecher and his wife the best in celebrating their marriage.
