Dallas Stars may target 2 Oilers for payback in first game of season

The Oilers and Stars have met in the conference final for the last three seasons, and have really begun to form a heated rivalry. Last year's playoffs got especially chippy, and apparently, the Stars are looking for payback.

Oilers analyst Jason Gregor spoke to some Dallas reporters to tee up tonight's game, and they revealed that the Stars players are still upset at Bouchard and Nurse's actions towards Roope Hintz in last year's playoffs.

In game 2 of last year's playoffs, Darnell Nurse was battling for position with Hintz in front of the net, and delivered a hard slash directly to the foot of the Stars' forward.

Hintz had to leave the game, and later became questionable to play the rest of the series. Eventually, the Stars revealed Hintz suffered a broken foot on the play.

Despite the severe injury, Hintz was able to make a return later in the series. The Oilers obviously knew he was injured, and Evan Bouchard gave him another chop on the top of the broken foot.

Not only is Hintz a key player for the Stars that needs to be protected, his success would've been critical for Dallas to win the series. Instead the Oilers kept him to a non-factor, and beat the Stars for the third year in a row.

Between their playoff defeats and this targeted play towards Hintz, the Stars will be out looking for payback on the Edmonton Oilers. Hopefully the boys from Oil Country are up to the task.
