Connor McDavid makes a very gutsy statement before Game 6 of Stanley Cup Final

Moments before hitting the ice in an elimination scenario, Oilers captain Connor McDavid gave the legendary «Mark Messier guarantee» that his team will win tonight.
Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavjd have been vocal throughout the playoffs in their ultimate belief in this group, enough that they're comfortable guaranteeing a win.
Connor McDavid guarantees a win to force Game 7 against Florida Panthers
Speaking to Darren Pang of NHL network just before the game, Connor McDavid said multiple times in no uncertain terms that the Edmonton Oilers will once again drag the Panthers back to Alberta.
MCDAVID: We've staved off elimination a bunch of times, and we're gonna do it again here tonight. Why do I think that? I just think we have a real resilient group that's incredibly desperate to get this thing done.
PANG: So why are we going back to Edmonton for Game 7?

It's absolutely gutsy for McDavid to come out and guarantee a win in any scenario, but especially with the Stanley Cup in the building. To have the guts to make a statement like this before a game of this size shows the ultimate belief he has in his team.
There's no question that all of the pressure will fall on McDavid and Draisaitl to perform tonight, and drag the Panthers back for Game 7. Both superstars haven't impacted the game quite as much as they should have so far this series, so hopefully their moment comes at the right time.
It's legendary to see McDavid make a guarantee like this, but the time for talking is over. The Oilers need to come out with their best effort for a full 60 minutes or more, or they could be watching the Stanley Cup be lifted in Florida tonight.
