The Edmonton Oilers have begun to turn around their season with two straight blowout wins, and McDavid thinks it's changed the confidence of the roster.

Through the first 25 games of this season, the Oilers were regressing at every position, and it was visibly wearing on the players. Their body language was that of a tired, beaten down team. That's changed after scoring 15 goals in their last 2 games.

Blowout wins have given Oilers new confidence, says McDavid

Speaking to the media at practice today, McDavid admitted these blowout wins gave the group some confidence that was lacking early this season. It's not guaranteed to stay, and it may not even be a turning point - but it's a boost to the group for now.
Confidence is a real thing. When you don't have it, it's pretty tough. Guys are feeling pretty confident right now, individuals are playing a little better.

Have we turned the corner? I don't know. We're always working at our game, and we're still trying to get better. Things have been better the last little while, now we have to keep it going.

- Connor McDavid
Fans have noticed the team immediately is seeming more upbeat after their stretch of blowout wins. Connor McDavid in particular has gone from barely reacting to goals and wins, to now visibly pumped for Oilers goals.
This is a long battle for a veteran Oilers team to make it through another 82 game campaign for another must-win postseason.
It takes a real toll on the group's mentality, but finding ways to enjoy the season and lighten up will be far more helpful than stone-facing for the whole year. Some confidence is just what this team needed to lighten up, and get back to dominating hockey games.
