Canucks Quinn Hughes joining Team USA before 4 Nations Faceoff Final against Team Canada

NHL insiders reported that Vancouver Canucks defenceman Quinn Hughes is travelling to Boston to join Team USA for the 4 Nations Faceoff Final against Canada.
However, there's a significant wrinkle with his addition to the team - he can not play unless they lose another player injury.
Just earlier this morning, Team USA was apparently told that no replacements would be available to them following injuries to not just McAvoy, but also both Tkachuk brothers,
Auston Matthews, and Vincent Trochek.
Team USA is still expecting the Tkachuk brothers, Matthews, and Trochek to play - but gaining Quinn Hughes in the absence of Charlie McAvoy will make a major difference for their team.
It's incredibly unfortunate that McAvoy had to back out of the tournament, but Quinn Hughes is a superstar level defenceman that Team USA was already sorely missing. With Hughes on their roster, they'll be a much better team.
The Canucks defenceman has been held out of the tournament so far with an injury, but is now clearly playing through the pain to represent his country in the best on best final. Hughes is having an incredible season with 59 points in 47 games - he'll be a major addition.
Team Canada is playing through injuries of their own, and will now have a much tougher test with Quinn Hughes in the lineup.
The 4 Nations Faceoff Final will take place Thursday night in Boston, and be one of the most anticipated hockey games of the decade.
