Moments ago, Elliotte Friedman reported as per Kyle Bukauskas that Team USA forward Brady Tkachuk has been injured during their game against team Sweden.
Tkachuk was breaking in with the puck towards the goaltender when he lost his balance and slid hip first into the post at full speed. He quickly went down the hall to the dressing room, and left the game after playing one more shift.
Tkachuk brothers have been instrumental in Team USA dominance
This injury coupled with his brother Matthew being injured against Team Canada certainly has seen injuries piling up for Team USA. It was reported moments before the game began that USA captain
Auston Matthews was to sit out the game due to upper body soreness.
Over the past three games of this tournament, it's become clear that the Tkachuk brothers have been a dominant force against their opponents especially using their physicality and even their fighting skills.
Team Canada answered the bell against their game as both brothers and JT Miller fought three Canadian players which set the tone for the finals as both Team Canada and team United States have punched their cards.
USA vs Canada set for Thursday
This Four Nations tournament has been a great showing of best on best for all teams involved. It's also been a great showcase for the NHL to show their league and a solid replacement or alternative for the NHL All Star weekend.
Barring any major injuries, many hope that the Tkachuk brothers, Matthews and other players who have been out are ready to go for Thursday as it will be a game that will be talked about for years to come.
The Four Nations finals will take place in Boston MA on Thursday February 20th. Safe to say it will be a great battle.
