Bobby Ryan fired from media job after comments on social media

Former Senators star forward Bobby Ryan has been let go from the Coming in Hot podcast under the Nation network after he made some troubling comments on social media.

A few days ago, Bobby Ryan made some comments that seemed to seriously out down Women's hockey, and many fans online called Ryan out for misogyny. The Coming In Hot podcast released a statement detailing that Ryan's comments did not align with Nation Network, and they will be parting ways.

Bobby Ryan made two specific posts that led to this incident. His second post only doubled down on his first, essentially insinuating that no one cares about Women's sports. His second post has since been deleted.

"Name 7 players. Not 1. Not 25-7.
First and last namesgo for it"

"Guys...holy hell. Relax!!!!
It's 843 and I want to go home and pretend like women's sports are a thing."

The co-hosts of the Coming In Hot Podcast, Brent Wallace and Jason York, have not issued a statement since, and Bobby Ryan hasn't either.

It's unfortunate that Ryan couldn't just realize immediately he made a mistake and vehemently apologize, but doubling down on his stance forced the Nation Network into this appropriate decision. Ryan will likely be hard pressed to find any other avenue back into hockey media, and looks like he's learning this lesson the hard way.
