In a game characterized by its relentless speed and intense physicality, hockey often takes a toll on its players, leading to unfortunate injuries. Such was the case during Sunday's thrilling match-up between the Peterborough Petes and Kamloops Blazers.

The incident occurred as Kyle Masters, a promising Minnesota Wild prospect, vigorously pursued the puck towards the corner. In a collision that epitomized the game's ferocity, Brennan Othmann, a top prospect for the New York Rangers, made forceful contact with Masters. The impact sent Masters crashing to the ice, his hand immediately grasping his tailbone in evident agony. Swiftly responding to the distressing scene, the medical team rushed to his aid, recognizing the urgent need for medical attention.

Eyewitness reports from the arena revealed that Masters initially desired to leave the ice on his own accord, displaying determination and resilience. However, the medical staff advised against it, prioritizing his well-being. Today, the Kamloops Blazers, the team Masters was facing, have provided an update on the situation.

FOLLOWING HIS INJURY DURING THE MAY 28TH MEMORIAL CUP GAME, KYLE MASTERS WAS REMOVED FROM THE ICE BY STRETCHER. HE WAS FULLY AWAKE AND MOVING ALL OF HIS EXTREMITIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE ROYAL INLAND HOSPITAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT FOR FURTHER EVALUATION.

THANK YOU TO THE BLAZERS AND PETERBOROUGH'S MEDICAL STAFF AND BCAS PARAMEDICS FOR THEIR MEDICAL CARE ON THE ICE.
