There's something to be said whenever a former fan favorite comes back to town to which the home crowd would love to see him play.
That was the hope tonight whenever the Pittsburgh Penguins faced off against the Minnesota Wild who has former star goaltender Marc Andre Fleury.
It was to the fans anger that newly minted Wild Head Coach John Hynes decided to sit Fleury which could be his final game in Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh fan base made it clear to Hynes they hated his decision.
I think it was a bad decision by the Wild not to play Fleury in front of his former teammates. With rumors that this may be his final season in the NHL it would have been nice for him to face off against Crosby and Malkin for one last time just in case he decides to retire from the game.
It would have been a storybook ending for the 39-year-old netminder.
