Former 1st Round Picks Career May Be Over

Former 1st round pick Nolan Patrick, currently an unrestricted free agent with a history of injuries, has yet to find a team for the upcoming NHL season.
Initial rumors of a PTO offer from the Edmonton Oilers have been clarified by Jason Gregor of DailyFaceOff, who reports that there is no truth to those rumors. However, there is talk of a PTO offer for another former Oiler, Sam Gagner.
Per Jason Gregor,
The Nolan Patrick rumors are not true. Sam Gagner is interested in a PTO with the Oilers and there's been some discussions with Edmonton about him returning.
With Patrick struggling to secure a spot on a team, there are concerns about the future of his career in the NHL.
If he is unable to secure a PTO, it may be difficult for him to find another opportunity. Patrick's career statistics include 222 NHL Games played, with 32-45-77, 83 PIMS, 6 playoff games played, and 1-1-2 in playoff games.
